Yoon-Ah Jung’s work ranges from video installation, 2D hand drawn animation to abstract painting and contains the idea of transformation and harmonic progression. Her works are observations of perpetual motion, natural activity and momentary effects showing consistencies and varieties in their movements. She uses natural objects such as light and water for visual metaphor because they have both unique colors which reflect on the environment.
The Book of Psalms is also a great motif for her abstract painting. Yoon-Ah’s unique brushstrokes and colorful imagery tell the story of spiritual journey and the relationship between God and soul. After receiving her B.F.A in Video and Film arts at MICA and M.F.A in Experimental Animation at CalArts, Jung has exhibited her paintings and video works through numerous group shows and screenings.
